About the trip
Guruvayur is Kerala's best-known Krishna temple town, drawing families for darshan, weddings and first-rice ceremonies. Beyond the temple, the Punnathur Kotta sanctuary is home to the temple's many elephants. From Coimbatore the road crosses into Kerala at Walayar, runs past Palakkad on NH 544, and turns west at Thrissur through Kunnamkulam to reach the town.
