About the trip
Mathura is the birthplace of Lord Krishna, and together with nearby Vrindavan it forms the heart of the Braj region. Devotees come for the temples, the ghats on the Yamuna and the festivals of Janmashtami and Holi. The drive from Delhi is short on the Yamuna Expressway, so it is easy to cover Mathura and Vrindavan in one day.

Use the Yamuna Expressway or NH 19 via Faridabad and Palwal. Leave early, and note that Vrindavan temples close from about noon to 4:30 pm.
