About the trip
Rameshwaram is an island town and one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites, home to the Ramanathaswamy Jyotirlinga temple with its long pillared corridors. Pilgrims bathe in the temple's 22 wells and at Agni Theertham. Many also drive to Dhanushkodi at the island's tip and visit the memorial to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. From Madurai the road crosses the sea on the Pamban bridge.
