About the trip
Velankanni is a seaside town on the Bay of Bengal, home to the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health, one of India's most visited Christian shrines. Pilgrims of every faith come to pray, walk to the Our Lady's Tank and attend the September feast. From Madurai the road runs through Thanjavur and Thiruvarur, and many also stop at Nagore Dargah close by.
