About the trip
Chennai is the nearest big airport and rail hub for pilgrims coming down from Tirumala, so this is one of our busiest routes. Some travellers also spend a day in the city for the beaches, old temples and museums. The road runs through Puttur and Tiruttani, where many families stop at the Murugan hill temple, before joining Chennai's western suburbs.

On the road
Go via Puttur, Tiruttani and Tiruvallur, or via Satyavedu towards the northern suburbs. Tiruttani is a good halt; allow extra time for city traffic.
