About the trip
Turaiyur is a quiet farming town north of Trichy at the foot of the Pachamalai hills. Most visitors come for family visits or the Perumal Malai hill temple, and some continue into the Pachamalai range or to Puliyancholai, a forest stream at the base of the Kolli Hills. The road passes through Mannachanallur and open farmland.

Take the Turaiyur road via Mannachanallur; it is two-lane but quiet. Puliyancholai is best after the monsoon, so leave by 8 am in that season.
