Prayagraj, once called Allahabad, is where the Ganga and Yamuna meet the mythical Saraswati at the Triveni Sangam. It hosts the Kumbh and Magh Melas and is one of the most important pilgrim towns in North India. The road from Ayodhya goes south through Sultanpur and Pratapgarh, and many pilgrims link Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Varanasi into a single circuit.
