About the trip

Varanasi, also called Kashi, is one of the oldest living cities in the world and the most sacred place on the Ganga for Hindus. Pilgrims come for the ghats, the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the evening Ganga aarti, while others visit nearby Sarnath where the Buddha gave his first sermon. The road from Ayodhya runs south-east through Sultanpur and Jaunpur.
