About the trip
Vellore is best known for CMC hospital, VIT university and its sixteenth-century granite fort surrounded by a moat. Many trips are for medical visits or college, but the fort, the Jalakandeswarar temple inside it and the gold-covered Sripuram temple make a good day out. The drive follows NH 48 west past Sriperumbudur and Kanchipuram district.
