About the trip
Palani is one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan, and the hill temple of Dhandayuthapani draws pilgrims every day of the year. From Coimbatore the drive goes through Pollachi and Udumalpet with farmland and coconut groves on both sides. Families usually go for darshan and head home the same day, while some carry on to Kodaikanal, which is only a couple of hours further up.
