About the trip
Thrissur is often called the cultural capital of Kerala, and it is the home of the famous Pooram festival. The city grew around the Vadakkunnathan Temple and its large central ground. From Coimbatore the drive crosses into Kerala through Walayar and Palakkad. People go for temple visits, shopping for gold and textiles, or to carry on to Guruvayur and Athirappilly.
