About the trip
Topslip is the main tourist zone of the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, set in thick teak and bamboo forest above Pollachi. It gets its name from the old practice of sliding teak logs down the slope. People come for the forest department safari, the elephant camp at Kozhikamuthi and the chance to see gaur, deer and birds. It works well as a day trip from Coimbatore.

On the road
Drive via Pollachi and Sethumadai, where the forest check post opens around 6 am. Leave Coimbatore very early to join the first safari and carry ID for the check post.
