About the trip
Neyyar Dam sits in the foothills of the Western Ghats inside the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a short drive inland from Kovalam. The reservoir, with forest on its banks, makes a peaceful half-day outing. Visitors take a boat across the lake, see the deer and crocodile rehabilitation centres, and walk around the gardens. The Sivananda yoga ashram nearby also draws many guests.
