About the trip

Udupi is a temple town famous for the Sri Krishna Matha, founded by the saint Madhvacharya, and for giving its name to a style of vegetarian food served across India. Close by are Malpe beach and the basalt columns of St. Mary's Island. From Mangalore it is a short coastal drive past Surathkal and Mulki, making it an easy day with temple, sea and a proper Udupi meal.
