Mysore Ooty Tour from Chennai

MysoreCoorgOoty

A royal city, the coffee hills of Coorg and the Queen of Hill Stations — the classic Mysore, Coorg and Ooty circuit in six days, planned from Chennai.

This Mysore Ooty tour from Chennai follows our six-day Mysore–Coorg–Ooty package: one night in Mysore, two in Coorg and two in Ooty, with a private air-conditioned car and driver throughout. As an Ooty Mysore tour agency in Tamil Nadu, we also arrange the leg from Chennai — the Shatabdi or a short flight to Bengaluru, or a car from your door — so the whole holiday is one plan.

It suits families, couples and elders alike: palaces and gardens for the first day, misty coffee estates and waterfalls in the middle, and the lakes, tea gardens and toy train of the Nilgiris at the end. It is the 6 days Mysore Ooty tour in Chennai that families ask us for most.

Getting there from Chennai

  • Chennai to Bengaluru: the morning Shatabdi takes about five hours; flights take about an hour; by road it is roughly six hours. We meet you in Bengaluru and drive on to Mysore.
  • Coming home: from Ooty we drive you back to Bengaluru, or down to Coimbatore (about three hours) for a train or flight to Chennai — whichever fits your dates.
  • By road all the way: we can run the trip end to end in one vehicle from Chennai or Virudhachalam if you prefer.

Best time to go

October to June is the best window. April to June is peak season in Ooty, with the flower show at the Botanical Garden in May. December and January bring crisp, cold nights in the Nilgiris. June to September is monsoon — Coorg is at its greenest, but expect heavy rain. During Mysore Dasara (September–October) the palace is lit up every evening and the city is at its busiest.

Frequently asked questions

How many days do we need for Mysore, Coorg and Ooty from Chennai?

Six days covers all three comfortably, plus the journey from Chennai to Bengaluru. With four days we would suggest Mysore and Ooty only.

What is the best time for a Mysore Ooty trip?

October to June. April to June is the busiest season in Ooty; December–January is cold at night.

How do we get from Chennai to Mysore?

Take the Shatabdi or a short flight to Bengaluru, where our driver meets you — or we drive you from Chennai. Mysore is about three hours from Bengaluru by road.

Can you book the Ooty toy train?

We help you book the Nilgiri Mountain Railway between Ooty and Coonoor (or the full run from Mettupalayam). Seats sell out in the holidays, so book early.

Is this tour good for senior citizens and children?

Yes. The drives are broken up, the sightseeing is gentle, and we can choose hotels with lifts and ground-floor rooms.

How much does the Mysore Ooty tour package cost?

It depends on dates, hotel category, vehicle and group size. Send us those on WhatsApp for a written, itemised quote with no hidden charges.
