Ooty's roads are steep and winding, parking in town is scarce, and weekend traffic around the lake and botanical garden can be slow. A car with a driver used to the Nilgiris means you can enjoy the views while someone else handles the hairpin bends. Your driver can plan a day around Doddabetta, the tea estates and Pykara, and take you down to Coonoor or out through Mudumalai. Most visitors fly into Coimbatore, so a direct pickup from there is the easiest start.
