About the trip
Athirappilly is the largest waterfall in Kerala, where the Chalakudy river drops about 80 feet into a wide forested gorge. Families come for the viewpoints, the walk down to the base of the falls and the nearby Vazhachal falls. The drive goes north on NH 544 to Chalakudy, then east through rubber and oil-palm plantations into the Sholayar forest.
