About the trip
Kollam is an old port town at the southern end of Kerala's backwaters, set around the wide Ashtamudi Lake. It is known for cashew processing, the Thangassery lighthouse and the backwater boat route to Alleppey. Visitors come for lake cruises, Jatayu Earth's Center nearby and quieter beaches. The drive follows NH 66 south along the coast through Alleppey and Kayamkulam.
