About the trip

Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagara empire and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site spread across a surreal landscape of granite boulders and the Tungabhadra river. Travellers spend two or three days among its temples, bazaars and royal enclosures. From Bangalore the road runs up NH 48 to Chitradurga, then turns towards Hosapete, the nearest town to the ruins.
