About the trip
Kumarakom is a cluster of villages on the eastern shore of Vembanad Lake, known for lakeside resorts, houseboats and a bird sanctuary. It suits travellers who want a slower stay on the water after the beaches of Poovar. The drive goes up the coast to Kollam and then inland along the MC Road via Kottayam, through rubber estates and small towns.
